Fees For Mental Health Services

Your mental health should not be compromised by insurance limitations. Getting the help you need may cost less than you think.

Payment for Therapy Services

This practice operates on a private-pay (self-pay) model in order to provide ethical, individualized, and clinically appropriate care without the constraints imposed by insurance companies. Treatment decisions are guided by clinical need rather than diagnosis requirements, session limits, or third-party oversight.

Do You Have a High Deducible or HMO plan?

Client with HMO plans, rarely accepted by most private practices, or clients with high deductible plans will appreciate the transparent pricing at a reduced rate compared to other practices.

Do You Value Your Privacy Around Mental Health Services?

Clients benefit from increased privacy, as insurance billing often requires the disclosure of diagnostic and treatment information. When you access therapy outside of insurance, you can get the help you need without adding a mental health diagnosis to your medical record. Clients going through life transitions and coaching clients may especially appreciate that working on life goals does not have to be defined or disclosed as an illness.

A self-pay model allows therapy to remain confidential between client and clinician whenever possible. Your records will never be disclosed, unless you authorize the practice to disclose treatment you have received. Limits of confidentiality include instances when harm to self or others are identified by your clinician over the course of treatment, standard to any therapy practice.

Do You Want a Personalized Approach?

The Chicago practice offers personalized, trauma-informed psychotherapy with flexibility in session length, frequency, and therapeutic approach. This model supports depth-oriented work, continuity of care, and responsiveness to the client’s changing needs over time. Typical initial sessions are 50-55 minutes offered weekly in the beginning of treatment, so you can gain therapeutic momentum in your individualized change process. You may want to make adjustments to the treatment length of sessions, session frequency or add additional therapeutic approaches as your therapy work deepens.

Sliding Fee Scale is Available

Fees are discussed transparently prior to beginning treatment. Sliding-scale openings are available to support accessibility to services. Fees are collected at the time of service, so you will not accrue a bill over time, and can monitor your budget. Fees range from $85 per session to $150 per session. We will discuss what works for you and your personalized budget, to make sure you can access the therapy services you need. Additional accommodations can be offered on a limited basis, based on need.

Loyola Student Discount

Actively enrolled students at Loyola University will be offered a discounted rate. Students at other colleges can inquire about a sliding-fee scale.

Payment for Services is Seamless and Easy

HSA accounts can be used to cover therapy expenses, and credit cards are accepted. Should you wish to receive a receipt for services for reimbursement for out-of-network therapy expenses, please ask your Chicago therapist for this service. We can also discuss submitting directly to your insurance company for this expense, saving you the hassle of doing it yourself. This practice is well suited for individuals seeking thoughtful, collaborative therapy; those navigating complex life stressors, trauma, or transitions; and clients who value autonomy, discretion, and a high standard of care.
